How To Clean Your Mukluks

Steger Mukluks Care and Maintenance

Do Not:
•  Do not machine wash or machine dry mukluks.
•  Do not dry clean your mukluks as the chemicals will damage them.
•  Do not expose your mukluks to temps over 90°F. Excessive heat will damage the boots.

Before storing your mukluks:
•  Pull the liners out and examine for wear. Make a note to order new liners or insoles for the following year if needed.

Where to store:
•  Store Steger Mukluks in a cool, dry place. Store them in the original box if you still have it. I put mine in my closet with the rest of my shoes.
•  Never store in any kind of plastic bag. If there’s any residual moisture a plastic bag or container can cause problems.
•  Don’t leave them in your car trunk in warm weather. The excessive heat can ruin them.

Cleaning Leather parts:
•  Use a brush to remove any dried dirt. Our brass brush works well.
•  All other stains and spots may be removed using Kelly's Lynn Easy Cleaner
•  Kelly's De-Salter works if you find salt stains.

Cleaning Canvas and Wool uppers:
•  Use a mild soap like Woolite and water - let dry before wearing.
